Joint venture with local charity - Wilmslow Wells for Africa

Please do come and join us for our next Singing Day, which takes place on Saturday 4th February 2012 at Wilmslow Methodist Church, Water Lane, Wilmslow. The day will be led by Keith Orrell, Director of the William Byrd Singers of Manchester. Keith gave us a most entertaining and instructive day two years ago, when there was a distinct Welsh flavour in his choice of music - not just Karl Jenkins' Te Deum, and William Mathias' Let the people praise thee O God, but also a short burst of the Welsh National Anthem, which we sang (or attempted to) in the native language.

This year we shall be working on the Messa di Gloria by Puccini. We have asked Keith to give us some thoughts on how we might improve our own personal competence as singers, as well as work at producing a good performance of the Puccini at the end of the day.

Lunch will be on offer from the team from Wilmslow Wells for Africa, whose lunch at our Singing Day last year was very well received, especially the selection of delicious cakes.
