 On August 26th
2002, Bank Holiday Monday, the Barnby Choir took part in the
Wilmslow Golden Jubilee Street Party, organized by the Wilmslow
Soroptimists. The event was in aid of the
David Lewis Centre.
We
put on a stall displaying a range of 'merchandise' in our new colours,
including posters, photographs, and also games and puzzles like Guess
the Number of Notes on the music sheet, a Musical Quiz (first prize book
token), Spot the Difference, Musical Matchmakers, and lots more.
 It
was a lovely sunny day, with good music and a happy cheerful
crowd. We made some new contacts in the community and we hope that
we also raised the profile of the choir in Wilmslow. Having said
that the winner of our Musical Quiz came from the Isle of Man! A
big thank you to all members who helped to make this event such a
success, and a special thank you to the Wilmslow
Soroptimists for
inviting us and organizing the Party.
